Ingredient Scorecard

Ingredient Scorecard

The Ingredient Scorecard is a simple buyer tool for judging whether a superfood or supplement listing looks credible, incomplete, or obviously overhyped.

Status: version 1 scaffold. This page is live now as a framework and will be expanded into deeper ingredient-by-ingredient scorecards later.

The five checks

  1. Identity: does the product clearly name the ingredient, extract type, or botanical identity?
  2. Dose transparency: can you see the amount used, or is it buried in a vague blend?
  3. Standardisation: where relevant, does the label name marker compounds or extract strength?
  4. Evidence fit: do the claims roughly match what current human evidence might support?
  5. Manufacturing trust: is there any credible signal around testing, sourcing, or basic quality controls?

Quick interpretation

  • Green: clear identity, clear dose, measured claims
  • Amber: some useful detail, but important gaps remain
  • Red: vague blends, dramatic claims, weak transparency
